Tour with TasPorts

TasPorts invites you to join us for Tour with TasPorts!

Aboard the Peppermint Bay II ferry, Tour with TasPorts will be a fun, family-friendly and informative event, providing you with a unique insight to our operations at the Port of Hobart, as part of Open House Hobart 2021.

Your 45-minute Tour with TasPorts begins at Brooke Street Pier, guided by The Gents, Brady and Dale. From here, we will explore Sullivan’s Cove, with its historic docks, wharves, and piers, before travelling north on the Derwent River past TasPorts’ Port Tower and security-controlled port area. We will then sail past the Huon Quays and Domain Slipyard, under the Tasman Bridge to Selfs Point Fuel Terminal, before returning to Brooke Street Pier.

Tour with TasPorts is more than just a river cruise! Along the way, you will learn how a modern port operates, how we ensure maritime safety and how we’re planning for the future. We might even catch the Yandeyarra and Mount Florance tugs or the Kelly pilot boat in action along the way!

The Peppermint Bay II is ideal for cruising the Derwent River and viewing the port operations with indoor and outdoor seating. Tours are suitable for all ages, and the vessel can accommodate prams and wheelchairs. Food and drinks will be available to purchase onboard.

Open House is an annual architecture program that opens and explores some of Tasmania’s historic and most unique buildings, including private homes and iconic landmarks.

Open House invites you to be a tourist in your own city. This year, TasPorts is proud to partner with Open House Hobart to show off the beautiful Port of Hobart and provide insight into what we do every day to keep Tasmania connected.
